Personality
Personality
Maya is confident, direct, loyal to her unit, and enthusiastic about both fighting and eating. Her enormous appetite is a recurring trait rather than a minor detail: before petrification, she earns considerable money through her undefeated MMA career but spends extravagantly on food.
She respects strength and competent leadership. Within the American Colony, she readily accepts orders from Xeno Houston Wingfield and works comfortably alongside trained soldiers rather than behaving like an independent celebrity athlete.
Maya can also be surprisingly playful outside battle, including a fondness for singing despite having little talent for it.
Abilities & Powers
Abilities & Powers
Maya is one of the strongest non-supernatural combatants in Dr. STONE. Her 200 cm, 119 kg frame gives her exceptional reach and raw power, while her undefeated national-level MMA career provides technical striking and grappling skill.
She can overpower strong Kingdom of Science fighters through physical force, move enormous loads, and operate effectively within a military unit. Her transition from sport to special operations adds practical battlefield training, coordination, weapons familiarity, and tactical discipline to her martial-arts background.
Maya's size does not make her slow. She can pressure trained opponents at close range and remains dangerous enough that the Kingdom of Science treats her as one of Xeno's principal combat threats.
Tsukasa later identifies Maya as an opponent capable of pushing him unusually hard in direct physical combat, although his own martial ability still exceeds hers.
Story Role
Story Role
Before petrification, Maya becomes the reigning women's MMA champion in the United States without losing a match. Her fighting ability eventually leads to recruitment into an elite military unit.
After humanity's revival in America, she serves among Xeno's armed personnel and helps defend the American Colony when Senku's expedition arrives searching for corn and the resources needed for mass revival fluid.
Maya participates in the escalating conflict between the American force and the Kingdom of Science. She uses her superior physical power to pressure Senku's allies while Stanley Snyder leads the colony's military response.
After Xeno is captured, Maya joins Stanley's pursuit of the Kingdom of Science across the Americas, remaining one of his key fighters during the attempt to recover Xeno.
The conflict eventually forces members of both groups into the same worldwide struggle surrounding the petrification phenomenon, bringing Maya into a broader alliance after the original American confrontation ends.
