Masao Chikabo

Masao is mentally exhausted and deeply resentful of the work that dominated his life before his awakening. Years of packaging goods leave him fixated on boxes and consumer society until the frustration manifests through his Choujin ability.

Rather than simply walking away from the job he hates, Masao redirects that resentment toward other people. His desire to package humans turns the repetitive task that broke him down into the defining expression of his power.

His case demonstrates how a Choujin awakening can externalize a person's obsessions and psychological distress rather than granting an unrelated supernatural talent.

As the Package Choujin, Masao can place a person inside a customized box through physical contact. The transformation immobilizes the victim and can restrain even another Choujin.

The boxes remain connected to Masao's condition. Damaging him can release people he has packaged, creating an important weakness in an ability that otherwise provides extremely effective instant restraint.

Masao can also use Raise, allowing him to recover from severe injuries through the regenerative mechanism common to Choujin.

Masao appears during Tokio and Ely's visit to Jasto, where multiple people have inexplicably been packaged. His rampage gives the two young Choujin another opportunity to deal with an uncontrolled awakening outside Yamato Mori.

Tokio attempts to intervene but is himself caught by the Package ability, demonstrating that Masao's apparently absurd power can incapacitate another Choujin immediately.

Ely responds more effectively and attacks Masao with her smoke. Damaging him releases the packaged victims and ends the immediate threat.

After being subdued, Masao is handled by Keeper Seppuku Edomura, who treats the incident less like a battle against an irredeemable villain than the breakdown of a man whose work and resentment triggered a dangerous Choujin awakening.

Tokio Kurohara attempts to stop Masao's rampage at Jasto but is caught by his Packaging ability.

Ely Otta defeats Masao by attacking him with smoke, causing the people he packaged to be released.

Seppuku Edomura arrives as the official Keeper responsible for resolving the incident after Masao is subdued. Seppuku Edomura encourages him to redirect his grievances into politics rather than attacking civilians.
