Linae

Linae is lively, expressive and comfortable teasing Kinato. Their long friendship gives her an ease around him that contrasts with the uncertainty he experiences when entering the unfamiliar world of professional adventurers.

She is also adventurous in her own right. Kinato's decision to leave Manutuka does not simply separate him from his old life; Linae chooses to accompany him and becomes involved with the Iron Fangs rather than remaining safely at home.

Her role as recorder suits her observant personality. Linae pays attention to the unusual people and events surrounding the guild and preserves them through her magical device, giving her a perspective that extends beyond immediate combat.

Linae is not initially established as one of the Iron Fangs' major combat mages, and canon does not provide a clearly defined signature spell comparable with Kinato's Seitai Magic or Jien's Dark Clouds.

Her primary established equipment is Magical Recording Device 40002. She carries the device during the group's adventures and uses it to record their experiences.

Linae's practical value therefore differs from that of the guild's frontline fighters. She accompanies dangerous expeditions and remains involved with the group while serving as an observer and chronicler of their journey.

Linae appears from the opening chapter as Kinato's childhood friend in Manutuka. She understands his desire to become an adventurer and encourages him when the opportunity finally becomes real.

After Jien invites Kinato to the Iron Fangs, Linae accompanies them rather than separating from her childhood friend. She joins the guild and becomes part of the group based in Assam.

Beginning with the early stages of the journey, Linae also provides narration, framing the story as a record of Kinato's growth from an inexperienced Seitai practitioner into an adventurer confronting increasingly dangerous situations.

Kinato is Linae's childhood best friend. She supports his dream of becoming an adventurer, leaves Manutuka alongside him and continues traveling with him as a member of the Iron Fangs.

Jien brings Linae and Kinato into the Iron Fangs after recognizing the potential of Kinato's unusual magic.

Kaminagi meets Linae when the newcomers arrive at the guild. Kaminagi is immediately captivated by Linae and begins treating her according to the knight-and-princess fantasy through which she interprets attractive women.

Olgen is the Iron Fangs vice-captain and one of the first established guild members Linae encounters after reaching the group's base.
