L Nando

L Nando is straightforward and simple-minded, with a tendency to say what he is thinking rather than carefully considering how it will sound. He is not presented as the intellectual leader of the brothers; that position belongs to S Nando.

Despite beginning the story on the opposing side of Morgiana's escape from slavery, L Nando later becomes friendly toward Alibaba. He remembers his former Fog Troupe leader positively and is willing to assist him when they encounter each other again.

L Nando has no established magical powers, Metal Vessel or Household Vessel. His main physical advantage is his exceptional size and strength.

During his early appearance he fights with an axe. He is strong enough to lift an adult man by the head, although raw strength does not place him anywhere near the level of fighters such as Morgiana, who defeats him with little difficulty.

His later success is economic rather than martial. Together with his brothers, he becomes involved in the casino business in Reim and accumulates considerable wealth.

L Nando initially appears at the thieves' fortress associated with the slave trade encountered during Morgiana's journey. He attacks Morgiana when she fights against the men holding captives there but is quickly defeated.

He and his brothers subsequently join the Fog Troupe in Balbadd, placing them under Alibaba's leadership during the resistance movement against the country's government.

When Alibaba later reaches Reim, he discovers that the three brothers have dramatically changed their circumstances. They have become wealthy casino operators, and L Nando helps Alibaba after finding him in poor condition. This reunion provides Alibaba with familiar contacts while he attempts to rebuild his abilities and determine his next course of action.

S Nando is L Nando's older brother and the leader of the trio. L generally follows his direction as the brothers move from criminal activity into the Fog Troupe and eventually legitimate business.

M Nando is L Nando's younger brother and the third member of their inseparable group.

Alibaba Saluja becomes L Nando's leader when the brothers join the Fog Troupe. L retains considerable respect for him afterward and readily helps him when they meet again in Reim.

Morgiana encounters L Nando while attacking the slave traders' fortress. L attempts to stop her with an axe, but her Fanalis strength allows her to defeat him quickly.
