Kyuu

Kyuu is theatrical, deceptive and highly confident in the system of traps he and Mei have established beneath Duelist Kingdom. The brothers deliberately turn their appearance, speech and arena into parts of the psychological challenge facing their opponents.

He rarely operates independently. Kyuu's actions are synchronized with Mei's, and the pair frequently speak and move as a unit, reinforcing their identity as specialist Tag Duelists rather than individual competitors.

Kyuu is also comfortable manipulating opponents outside the formal duel. The brothers' maze and exit-door trick demonstrate that they view deception as an extension of the game.

Kyuu uses a Labyrinth Deck that complements Mei's cards. Their field is transformed by Labyrinth Wall, forcing monsters to move through a maze rather than simply attacking across a conventional Duel Monsters field.

The brothers distribute the components of Gate Guardian between their strategies. Sanga of the Thunder, Kazejin and Suijin combine into their signature monster, requiring careful cooperation and resource management.

Kyuu's greatest dueling ability is therefore teamwork. He and Mei coordinate summons, attacks and defensive plays with little need for discussion, making them dangerous against opponents unused to Tag Duels.

Kyuu and Mei appear in the underground labyrinth beneath Duelist Kingdom as Eliminators tasked with preventing competitors from reaching Pegasus's castle. They challenge Yugi and Jonouchi when the group reaches their arena.

The brothers' unusual rules force their opponents to navigate the Labyrinth while simultaneously defending themselves from the monsters controlled by both Eliminators. Their plan culminates in summoning Gate Guardian.

After the duel, Kyuu and Mei attempt to confuse Yugi's group with two exit doors and misleading claims about which path is safe. Yugi turns their own deception against them and identifies the trick.

Kyuu later appears alongside Mei in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, where the brothers continue operating as an established Tag Duel team.

Mei is Kyuu's older twin brother and permanent dueling partner. Kyuu and Mei coordinate virtually every aspect of their Labyrinth strategy.

Pegasus J. Crawford employs Kyuu and Mei as Duelist Kingdom Eliminators.

Yugi Mutou and Katsuya Jonouchi oppose Kyuu and Mei in their underground Tag Duel, overcoming the brothers' Gate Guardian strategy and labyrinth tricks.
