Kujirada

In the manga, Kujirada is abrasive and selfish about his Digital Pet. He is proud of keeping the creature alive far beyond the ordinary lifespan of the devices and allows its demands to inconvenience and hurt other students.

His attachment to the pet is nevertheless genuine. The creature constantly wakes him to demand food, leaving Kujirada exhausted even while he remains proud of its exceptional development.

The Toei anime significantly changes his characterization. There he appears wealthy, arrogant and aggressive, but the episode reveals that Haiyama has been bullying and controlling him, with Kujirada himself subjected to physical abuse whenever he fails.

Kujirada does not use Duel Monsters in his principal storyline. Instead, he owns an unusually developed Digital Pet whose hidden character has survived for approximately two months, far longer than the normal lifespan of the devices.

The creature can connect to other Digital Pets and consume their virtual characters. This allows it to eliminate the pets belonging to Yugi's friends until Yugi raises a creature capable of fighting back.

In the Toei adaptation, Kujirada uses Devil Master as his aggressive Digital Pet. This version of the conflict eventually leads to a Digital Pet Shadow Game involving Haiyama rather than Kujirada himself.

Kujirada's manga storyline begins when his Digital Pet grows tired of ordinary virtual food and demands that he connect it to other students' devices. The creature consumes the pets belonging to Katsuya Jonouchi and Anzu Mazaki.

Yugi raises his own Digital Pet, U2, to confront Kujirada's creature. U2 ultimately destroys the aggressive pet, and Kujirada is almost relieved because he can finally sleep without constantly being awakened to feed it.

The Toei adaptation changes the central conflict. Kujirada is revealed as a victim of Haiyama's manipulation, while Haiyama becomes the true antagonist and faces Dark Yugi in the episode's Shadow Game.

Yugi Mutou confronts the problem created by Kujirada's Digital Pet and raises U2 to fight it.

Katsuya Jonouchi has his Digital Pet consumed by Kujirada's creature in the manga.

Anzu Mazaki likewise loses her Digital Pet to Kujirada's aggressive virtual creature.
