Koutaro is confident, excitable and extremely proud of his kicking. Accuracy is central to his identity, and he readily boasts about his ability to convert scoring opportunities.

He is also deeply loyal to Bando. The team's difficulties and loss of players do not persuade him to abandon it for a more prestigious program.

His confidence can become pressure when his normally dependable accuracy is threatened. Because Bando's entire strategy relies heavily on his leg, an individual mistake carries unusual psychological weight.

Koutaro is one of Japan's most accurate high-school kickers. He can make field goals from approximately fifty yards and is noted for an exceptional record on extra-point attempts.

His precision extends beyond formal games. He can kick small objects toward narrow targets, demonstrating fine control over direction as well as distance.

That predictability can also be exploited. Because accurate kicks tend to travel exactly where opponents expect, a return team can prepare for the landing point more easily than it could against an erratic kicker.

Koutaro's kicking ability becomes the foundation of Bando's unusual football philosophy. Instead of treating field goals as a secondary option, the Spiders build much of their offense around consistently moving close enough for him to score.
