Kouchou

Kouchou is not portrayed as a malicious ayakashi. Her limited appearances place her among the spirits capable of interacting peacefully rather than among those seeking human life energy or deliberately causing harm.

Canon gives Kouchou comparatively little individual characterization. Her behavior is therefore better understood through her place among the recurring minor ayakashi than through an elaborate personal history or set of motivations that the manga does not establish.

As an ayakashi, Kouchou is a spiritual being and belongs to the supernatural world normally hidden from humans without sufficient spiritual sensitivity.

The series does not establish an extensive named combat repertoire for Kouchou. She is not presented as a frontline fighter comparable to Shirogane or the jinyo, and attributing specialized offensive techniques to her would go beyond established material.

Kouchou appears as part of the wider ayakashi population surrounding the protagonists. Her presence contributes to Suzu's continuing contact with spirits and reinforces the distinction the series draws between dangerous ayakashi and those capable of peaceful coexistence.

She remains a minor supporting figure rather than driving an independent arc. The story's major supernatural conflicts are handled by characters with substantially greater combat power and narrative involvement.

Suzu Kanade has an unusual affinity for ayakashi and provides the central human connection through which peaceful spirits such as Kouchou can exist around the main cast.

Matsuri Kazamaki is the exorcist ninja responsible for protecting Suzu Kanade and gradually learns not to treat every harmless ayakashi as something that must automatically be exorcised.

Shirogane is the King of Ayakashi and the most prominent authority among the spirits living around Omiko City.
