Korori-tai no Onna Heishi

The female soldier is quiet, restrained and difficult to read. She rarely expresses strong emotion even in circumstances that place the supply unit under severe pressure.

Her lack of outward emotion is paired with reliability in combat. She does not need to establish her position through boasting; the other members already recognize her as the strongest fighter in the unit.

She remains disciplined as the ZQN encountered by the group become stranger and harder to understand.

The female soldier is the Korori Unit's best combatant. She is capable of fighting during dangerous supply expeditions through infected Tokyo and provides protection for less combat-oriented members.

She is eventually bitten by an infected doctor and begins displaying signs of mutation. Instead of completing an ordinary ZQN transformation, however, she recovers. Even more remarkably, her lost right leg regenerates.

The regeneration identifies her as another example of a human whose interaction with the infection produces extraordinary physical changes without complete loss of identity.

The female soldier appears during the later Tokyo storyline as a member of Korori's supply corps. The unit ventures outside its protected base to gather resources necessary for the larger survivor population.

Her role becomes more important when the team encounters evolved or otherwise unusual infected individuals. She is consistently the member best equipped to deal with physical threats.

Her bite, apparent mutation and subsequent recovery provide important evidence about the changing relationship between humans and ZQN. The regeneration of her missing leg makes her condition impossible to explain as ordinary recovery from injury.

Nakata Korori commands the supply unit in which the female soldier serves. Her fighting ability makes her one of Nakata Korori's most valuable team members.

The other members of Nakata Korori's unit rely on her combat ability during expeditions, although the manga gives her relatively little individualized dialogue or personal history.
