Kokurano

Kokurano is theatrical, vain and eager to exploit the attention generated by his apparent psychic abilities. He surrounds himself with admirers and behaves as though his predictions place him above ordinary students.

His interest in Anzu becomes possessive. Rather than simply trying to impress her, Kokurano uses his reputation and staged predictions to create the impression that fate itself has determined their relationship.

He is also deceptive and opportunistic. His supposed clairvoyance depends on preparation and manipulation rather than supernatural insight, and he keeps enough possible predictions available to claim success whenever circumstances happen to match one of them.

Kokurano claims to possess precognition and becomes famous after apparently predicting a house fire. He uses fortune-telling performances to convince other Domino High students that he can foresee future events.

His methods rely on deception rather than genuine psychic ability. Kokurano prepares numerous possible predictions so that successful coincidences can be presented as proof while failed possibilities are ignored.

In the Toei anime, his confrontation with Dark Yugi uses a game involving a pendulum and numbered cards, testing whether Kokurano's claimed supernatural foresight can actually predict an opponent's choices.

Kokurano's growing popularity attracts attention throughout Domino High School. Most students accept his psychic reputation, but Yugi becomes suspicious when Kokurano focuses his predictions on Anzu.

Kokurano predicts that Anzu will encounter a wonderful man and arranges circumstances intended to make the prophecy appear true. His actions eventually prompt Yugi's other personality to challenge his claims directly.

Dark Yugi exposes Kokurano by confronting him through a game designed around prediction. Kokurano's supposed powers fail when he can no longer control the circumstances, revealing that his reputation has been built through deception.

Anzu Mazaki becomes the focus of Kokurano's attention after she shows little interest in receiving one of his fortunes. He attempts to convince Anzu Mazaki that his prediction has destined her to encounter him romantically.

Yugi Mutou distrusts Kokurano's claims and becomes concerned about his pursuit of Anzu Mazaki. Dark Yugi ultimately challenges Kokurano and exposes the fraudulent basis of his supposed psychic abilities.

Miho Nosaka is present alongside Anzu Mazaki as Kokurano's reputation spreads through Domino High School and is among the students aware of his predictions.
