Kinako Kurohara

Kinako is blunt, teasing, and comfortable speaking frankly to her younger brother. She can become irritated by Tokio's habits at home and has little hesitation about calling him out when he is being inconsiderate or directionless.

Her humor is similarly straightforward. When Tokio asks about her own dream after being challenged to think about his future, Kinako casually answers that she wants to marry into money.

Beneath the sibling banter, she remains part of the ordinary family environment Tokio increasingly leaves behind as his responsibilities as a Choujin expand.

Kinako is presented as an ordinary human and has no established Choujin ability.

Her role is domestic rather than combat-oriented, and no exceptional fighting skills or supernatural techniques are established for her.

Kinako appears early in Tokio's home life after his transformation. While Tokio is attempting to process the implications of becoming a Choujin, his interactions with his family continue with the mundane irritations and conversations of ordinary life.

She later questions Tokio about what he intends to do with himself, reinforcing the uncertainty already troubling him. His lack of a dream contrasts with the increasingly clear goals of people such as Ely Otta and Azuma.

As Tokio's Keeper work carries him farther from his former life, the Kurohara family increasingly represents the civilian world he is trying to protect even as his ability to live normally within it diminishes.

Tokio Kurohara is Kinako's younger brother. She teases Tokio Kurohara, argues with him over ordinary household matters, and questions his lack of direction.

Tobisuke Kurohara is Kinako and Tokio's father and another member of the Kurohara household.

Azuma Higashi is Tokio's longtime best friend and consequently a familiar presence around the family.
