Kazuhiro Mochizuki

Mochizuki is cautious and comparatively subdued. Supplementary material gives him the motto associated with checking a stone bridge before crossing it, matching the reserved demeanor he displays around Fukuda Sougou's volatile ace.

His behavior around Haizaki is particularly revealing. Mochizuki does not retaliate when Haizaki physically lashes out at him, illustrating how thoroughly the ace's aggression intimidates his own teammates.

Outside those moments, canon gives Mochizuki little independent characterization. His personality should therefore not be expanded beyond the reserved, careful behavior established during Fukuda Sougou's appearances.

Mochizuki is a shooting guard with a distinctive Scoop Shot. He releases the ball underhand, producing an unusual trajectory and release point that makes the attempt difficult for a conventional defender to block.

He uses the technique against Mitsuhiro Hayakawa to score Fukuda Sougou's opening points against Kaijou. The move demonstrates useful technical creativity even though Mochizuki lacks a supernatural ability of his own.

Ryouta Kise copies the Scoop Shot during the match. Haizaki later Pillages the technique from his own teammate while searching for additional weapons against Kise's Perfect Copy.

Mochizuki appears as one of Fukuda Sougou's regulars in its Winter Cup quarterfinal against Kaijou. Early in the game, he receives the ball from Hideki Ishida and scores with his Scoop Shot.

His technique is quickly incorporated into the escalating contest between Kise's copying ability and Haizaki's Pillage.

Haizaki ultimately takes the Scoop Shot from Mochizuki himself, demonstrating how little distinction Haizaki makes between opponents and teammates when acquiring techniques. Fukuda Sougou later loses the game after Kise activates Perfect Copy.

Shougo Haizaki is Mochizuki's ace teammate and a source of intimidation within Fukuda Sougou. Haizaki eventually Pillages Mochizuki's Scoop Shot during the Kaijou match.

Hideki Ishida is Mochizuki's captain and point guard, working with him within Fukuda Sougou's conventional offense.
