Personality
Personality
Kawasaki is responsible and protective of his workplace. When Kagura and Shimura Shinpachi crash Gintoki's scooter into the Kunoichi Café, his immediate concern is the damage they have caused.
He can be stern with employees, particularly Ayame Sarutobi, whose behavior at work regularly falls short of ordinary professional standards.
Kawasaki is also considerably more sentimental than the investigation into him initially suggests. His secretive behavior around a flower shop has a personal purpose connected to his wife rather than the affair she suspects.
Abilities & Powers
Abilities & Powers
Kawasaki has no supernatural abilities or established combat specialty.
He is capable of managing the Kunoichi Café, supervising its employees and handling the ordinary administrative responsibilities of the business.

Story Role
Story Role
Kawasaki becomes the subject of a Yorozuya investigation after his wife Michiko Kawasaki notices suspicious behavior and fears that he is cheating on her.
Gintoki is unavailable for much of the assignment, leaving Kagura and Shinpachi to conduct the investigation themselves. Their first visit to the Kunoichi Café immediately goes wrong when they crash the scooter into the building.
Seeing Kawasaki with Sarutobi, Kagura hastily concludes that the two are having an affair. Sarutobi then plays along with the accusation, making Michiko even more suspicious.
Further investigation reveals Kawasaki has also been visiting Wakikaoru's flower shop, which appears to strengthen the case against him.
Kawasaki is ultimately revealed not to be cheating. His visits to the flower shop were connected to creating a floral portrait as a present for Michiko.
Relationships
Relationships
Michiko Kawasaki is Kawasaki's wife and the mother of his three children. Her suspicions of infidelity are ultimately disproved when Kawasaki's secret floral gift is revealed.
Ayame Sarutobi works under Kawasaki at the Kunoichi Café and becomes mistakenly identified as one of his supposed lovers.
Wakikaoru works at the flower shop Kawasaki secretly visits and assists with the circumstances surrounding his gift.
Kagura and Shimura Shinpachi investigate Kawasaki on Michiko's behalf and repeatedly misinterpret the evidence they uncover.
Sakata Gintoki is connected to the Yorozuya investigation even though Kagura and Shinpachi handle much of the actual surveillance.
