Personality
Personality
Jin is energetic, theatrical, emotional, contradictory, and deeply loyal to anyone who accepts him. His speech frequently alternates between a statement and its immediate opposite, reflecting a psychological fracture rather than simple indecision.
He becomes intensely distressed when his mask is removed. For years, Jin does not know with absolute certainty whether he is the original person or merely one surviving duplicate, and covering his face helps maintain a stable sense of self.
The League gives him something he previously lacked: people who accept him without demanding that he become normal first. That acceptance produces extraordinary loyalty. Jin will place himself in extreme danger to protect League members because he considers them the closest thing he has to a family.
Abilities & Powers
Abilities & Powers
Double allows Jin to create exact physical duplicates of people or objects after obtaining sufficiently accurate measurements and information about them.
Duplicates retain the abilities and Quirks of the original person but are less durable than the source. A clone can in turn use Double if the copied person possesses the Quirk, creating potentially exponential numbers.
Jin originally avoids duplicating himself because he fears recreating the disaster that shattered his identity. During the Meta Liberation Army conflict, he realizes he is unquestionably the original after surviving injuries that would have destroyed a clone. Freed from that fear, he unleashes Sad Man's Parade, creating an enormous self-replicating army.
Story Role
Story Role
Twice joins the League after Giran introduces him to the group and becomes part of the Vanguard Action Squad involved in the forest training camp attack.
He later brings Chisaki Kai into contact with the League and, alongside Toga, is temporarily assigned to work with the Shie Hassaikai. Their resentment over Magne's death leads them to deliberately undermine Chisaki's operation.
During the Meta Liberation Army confrontation, Jin's psychological barrier finally collapses in a way that strengthens rather than destroys him. His Sad Man's Parade becomes one of the League's most strategically dangerous abilities and later makes him a priority target for the heroes.
During the Paranormal Liberation War, Hawks attempts to take Jin into custody because Double could overwhelm the heroes if he escapes. Dabi interrupts, but Hawks ultimately kills Jin before he can reach the main battlefield. One final duplicate reaches Toga and Mr. Compress long enough for Jin to say goodbye.
Relationships
Relationships
Himiko Toga becomes Jin's closest friend in the League. She repairs his mask when it is damaged, reassures him during psychological crises, and receives his final act of protection.
Tomura Shigaraki gives Jin a place within the League and increasingly earns his loyalty by trusting members to pursue their own motives.
Dabi works frequently with Jin and attempts to protect him from Hawks once the heroes target Double as a major strategic threat.
Mr. Compress is another close League companion who accepts Jin's eccentric behavior without judgment.
Giran brings Jin into contact with the League, effectively giving him the community that becomes central to his life.
Hawks infiltrates the Paranormal Liberation Front and develops enough rapport with Jin to genuinely understand him, but ultimately kills him because Sad Man's Parade presents an overwhelming threat to the hero operation.
