Izumi Tatsumi

Tatsumi is somewhat more cautious than Rika. When the consequences of crossing Gantz's boundary become visible, she recognizes the danger and turns back.

Her concern for her friend also overrides careful judgment. Faced with an unfamiliar creature immediately afterward, Tatsumi reacts emotionally rather than waiting to understand what she is confronting.

Tatsumi has no established supernatural abilities or formal combat training.

She demonstrates enough physical determination to grapple with one of the smaller dinosaur-like aliens and pin it temporarily.

Without proper equipment or experience, however, she has little chance against multiple mission targets.

Tatsumi enters Gantz with Rika and initially plans to leave the hunting area with her.

After Rika is killed by Gantz's boundary mechanism, Tatsumi turns back and encounters a Kappe-like alien. Believing it responsible for what happened, she attacks and pins it.

The creature summons several raptors, which surround Tatsumi and tear her apart. Her brief resistance ends before she can join the established hunters.

Rika Shiraishi is Tatsumi's friend and enters the mission alongside her. Seeing Rika killed causes Tatsumi to react aggressively toward the nearby alien.

Reika Shimohira is among the experienced and recognizable participants gathered with Tatsumi before the mission.

Shion Izumi's Shinjuku massacre creates the circumstances that bring Tatsumi into Gantz.
