Hu Lun

Hu Lun is confident, playful and remarkably relaxed for a man who routinely enters the most dangerous parts of a battlefield. He enjoys combat and can smile even while facing opponents capable of threatening his life.

His confidence is not empty arrogance. Hu Lun has spent years fighting beside one of China's greatest generals and has survived countless battles. He respects opponents who demonstrate genuine ability and becomes increasingly interested in Xin as the younger commander pushes beyond his expectations.

He is deeply loyal to Po Lian. That relationship is not merely professional; Hu Lun's devotion stems from the life and purpose his commander gave him.

Hu Lun is an elite swordsman who normally fights with two blades. His speed allows him to cut through groups of soldiers and rapidly penetrate formations, while his reactions make him exceptionally dangerous in close combat.

He possesses a talent for commander hunting. Before major battles, Hu Lun can infiltrate enemy positions and strike officers directly, weakening an army's command structure before the main engagement has fully developed.

His martial ability is complemented by battlefield intuition. Hu Lun reads opponents quickly and can exploit small openings without waiting for detailed instructions.

Hu Lun enters the Sanyou campaign as one of the Four Heavenly Kings serving Po Lian. He immediately demonstrates the danger posed by Po Lian's veterans by attacking Qin's command structure and eliminating officers before the decisive battle.

His path eventually crosses with Xin, who is still developing as a commander and warrior. Their encounters become one of the campaign's central personal conflicts.

After multiple clashes, Xin ultimately defeats Hu Lun in a brutal duel. Hu Lun accepts the younger warrior's strength and dies still loyal to Po Lian, leaving a lasting impression on Xin's development.

Po Lian is Hu Lun's lord and the person to whom he is most devoted. Po Lian found Hu Lun as an orphaned child and raised him within his military family.

Jie Zifang, Xuan Feng and Jiang Yan are the other members of Po Lian's Four Heavenly Kings.

Xin becomes Hu Lun's principal opponent during the Sanyou campaign. Their final duel ends with Xin defeating Hu Lun.

Wang Ben also confronts Hu Lun during the campaign and demonstrates enough skill to seriously challenge him.
