Howard Link

Link is serious, precise and fiercely committed to his duties. He takes detailed notes on Allen Walker, maintains strict schedules and initially treats surveillance as a professional obligation rather than an intrusion into Allen's life.

His rigid exterior hides domestic talents and small indulgences. Link is an excellent baker and becomes particularly animated around desserts, creating an incongruous contrast with his severe expression.

Prolonged contact with Allen complicates his institutional loyalty. Link begins to understand the person he has been ordered to observe, making unquestioning obedience increasingly difficult when Central's interests conflict with Allen's welfare.

Link is not an Exorcist, but he is a highly trained member of the CROW organization. He possesses exceptional speed, agility and close-combat skill.

He uses magical talismans that can restrain targets, establish barriers and support attacks. His training allows him to participate against supernatural enemies despite having no Innocence.

Link also carries concealed weapons and is capable of moving rapidly enough to surprise experienced combatants. His administrative appearance therefore substantially understates his effectiveness in a fight.

Link is assigned by Malcolm C. Lvellie to observe Allen Walker after concerns surrounding the Fourteenth become impossible for Central to ignore. He moves into Allen's room and records nearly everything he does.

The assignment places Link beside Allen during the Level 4 attack on headquarters and later crises. As he spends more time with Allen, his role changes from detached observer to someone personally invested in what happens to him.

During the Third Exorcist crisis, Link is critically wounded and publicly believed dead. Malcolm secretly has Zuu Mei Chang save him, after which Link continues operating under concealed orders while his loyalties become increasingly complicated.

Allen Walker is the subject Link is ordered to monitor. Their relationship begins as surveillance but gradually develops into genuine concern and mutual trust.

Malcolm C. Lvellie is Link's superior and the person to whom he reports. Malcolm later conceals Link's survival and entrusts him with secret responsibilities.

Lavi enjoys provoking Link and gives him insulting nicknames based on the markings on his forehead.

Zuu Mei Chang uses his healing sorcery to save Link after he is critically wounded, leaving a lasting connection between them.
