Hou

Hou is analytical, self-assured and almost inseparable from Ban in speech and strategy. The twins frequently complete one another’s statements through their mental link.

They prefer studying an opponent before exposing themselves. Their confidence depends heavily on perfect coordination, making disruption of their shared focus especially dangerous.

Guhl and Günther are sentient Dolls sealed in bottle-cap-like crests. They collect and manipulate nearby water, creating large masses capable of drowning or crushing targets.

The Dolls can merge, enter bodies through water and attack from within. Hou and Ban direct them through synchronized thought; breaking that synchronization disrupts the merged Doll’s control.

Hou and Ban lure Uryuu and his allies into a flooded confrontation while attempting to capture the powerless Quincy. Their water techniques initially overwhelm the group.

Ganju identifies and separates the Dolls’ crests with his fireworks, breaking the twins’ control. With their Dolls destroyed, Hou and Ban rapidly age, disintegrate and die.

Ban is Hou’s twin brother and indispensable mental partner. Guhl and Günther are their paired Dolls.

Uryuu Ishida is their intended captive. Ganju Shiba discovers the Dolls’ weakness and causes the twins’ defeat.
