Hinata Boggo

Hinata is jealous, entitled and vindictive. He resents Sanko for outperforming him at school and expects his family's influence to solve problems he cannot handle himself.

His bullying goes considerably beyond teasing. Hinata is willing to exploit a powerful relative's position within the Solar Mass simply to remove a classmate he dislikes.

Even after years have passed, Hinata's resentment toward Sanko remains intense enough that he accepts radical transformation in exchange for another opportunity to pursue him.

As a child, Hinata has no established supernatural powers. His principal advantage comes from his family connection to a senior Solar Mass figure and the privileges that relationship provides.

Later, the Solar Mass transforms Hinata into a Photoatom being designed for combat. The transformation grants him abilities far beyond his original body and makes him a direct physical threat to Sanko.

Hinata appears in the flashback to Sanko's life aboard Treegun. He and other students become angry after Sanko receives a better grade for a handmade swimsuit and later attempt to pressure him into completing their work.

Hinata's grandfather arrives aboard a Solar Mass vessel, giving Hinata an opportunity to ask for Sanko to be killed. A plan is devised to make Sanko's death in the school pool look accidental.

Shimada intervenes and saves Sanko from the attack. Hinata himself falls into the pool during the incident and drowns.

Much later, Hinata returns through Solar Mass technology as the Photoatom being Hinoumi-Wah and resumes his pursuit of Sanko, eventually becoming a major opponent during the later conflict.

Zaha Sanko is Hinata's classmate and the target of his jealousy and bullying. Hinata's hostility survives his transformation and continues into their later confrontation.

Magma Ride-On is Hinata's grandfather and uses his influence within the Solar Mass to enter Treegun. He provides the means for Hinata and the other bullies to stage an attempt on Sanko's life.

Shimada Death interferes with Hinata's childhood plan and rescues Sanko from drowning.
