Hikari no Kamen

Hikari no Kamen is calculating, taunting and confident in the preparation he and his partner have made for their targets. He understands that Yugi and Kaiba are rivals first and allies only by necessity, making their lack of teamwork central to the Ghouls' strategy.

He is more effective when coordinating with Yami no Kamen than when operating independently. Their Decks are designed around complementary Mask cards, and the pair repeatedly communicate while attempting to control the duel.

Like the other Ghouls, Hikari no Kamen accepts dangerous assignments on Marik's behalf and is willing to place opponents in situations where losing the duel carries physical consequences.

Hikari no Kamen uses a Mask Deck alongside Yami no Kamen. Their strategy combines Mask Spell and Trap Cards with monsters designed to restrict opposing plays and build toward The Masked Beast.

The Masked Beast is Ritual Summoned using Curse of the Masked Beast and provides the pair with a powerful offensive monster. Their Deck also contains cards specifically selected to interfere with Yugi and Kaiba's most dangerous strategies.

The pair's greatest strength is coordinated Tag Dueling. They attempt to exploit the friction between their opponents while sharing resources and planning several turns ahead.

Hikari no Kamen and Yami no Kamen first appear as Rare Hunters working under Marik Ishtar. They are assigned to stop Yugi and Kaiba during the Battle City finals.

Their Tag Duel takes place on a glass rooftop with each participant positioned above an explosive device. The arrangement creates consequences for defeat far beyond losing Locator Cards.

Yugi and Kaiba initially struggle to cooperate, exactly as the Masked Duo expects. Their opponents gradually recognize that defeating the Ghouls requires them to coordinate their normally competing strategies.

Yugi and Kaiba ultimately overcome the Masked Duo by combining their plays. Hikari no Kamen's defeat triggers the danger built into the rooftop duel, although the Ghouls had secretly prepared parachutes for themselves.

Yami no Kamen is Hikari no Kamen's partner and fellow member of the Masked Duo. Their Decks are designed to work together, making Yami no Kamen essential to Hikari no Kamen's Tag Duel strategy.

Marik Ishtar commands Hikari no Kamen as part of the Ghouls and sends the Masked Duo against Yugi and Kaiba.

Yami Yugi is one of Hikari no Kamen's targets during Battle City and must cooperate with Kaiba to overcome the pair's coordinated strategy.

Seto Kaiba is the other opponent in the rooftop Tag Duel. Hikari no Kamen and his partner deliberately exploit the rivalry between Seto Kaiba and Yami Yugi.
