Hideo Akagi

Hideo is competitive, talented, and strongly devoted to both soccer and his younger brother. He normally takes pride in performing at his best and has built a substantial following among soccer fans.

His concern for Mamoru outweighs his professional ambitions. When his brother is endangered, Hideo is willing to damage his own performance and reputation rather than risk Mamoru's safety.

He maintains a strong friendship with Uemura despite the competitive pressures of professional soccer.

Hideo is an elite professional forward with excellent shooting, heading, positioning, and scoring ability. He establishes a notable scoring streak early in the series and remains one of the Tokyo Spirits' most recognizable attacking players.

His number 11 role places him among the team's primary offensive threats. He is capable of scoring in high-pressure matches and competing successfully against other leading J.League teams.

Hideo first becomes involved in a case when someone contacts the Mouri Detective Agency asking for Shinichi Kudo. The investigation quickly becomes connected to Hideo and a professional match he is playing.

Mamoru has been kidnapped, and Hideo is ordered to deliberately lose opportunities during the match or risk his brother being harmed. Conan and Ran investigate while Hideo continues playing under enormous pressure.

After the case, Hideo remains part of Detective Conan's recurring soccer world. He appears in later matches and soccer-centered stories, including The Eleventh Striker.

Mamoru Akagi is Hideo's younger brother. Hideo is extremely protective of Mamoru Akagi and deliberately compromises his play when a kidnapper threatens the boy.

Naoki Uemura is Hideo's friend and Tokyo Spirits teammate.

Conan Edogawa is an enthusiastic soccer follower who becomes involved in rescuing Mamoru and later encounters Hideo through professional soccer events.

Shinichi Kudo is the young detective specifically requested when the original kidnapping case begins.

Ryusuke Higo is another prominent professional player and one of the major stars associated with Big Osaka.
