Haruomi Tsukuba

Haruomi is energetic and openly admiring of Akihiro. He joins the other younger Tsukuba brothers in enthusiastically following their eldest brother's matches and reinforcing Akihiro's confidence in his own abilities.

His individual characterization remains limited because the younger brothers generally appear as a group. Their shared enthusiasm and close family relationship are more clearly established than sharply differentiated personalities.

Haruomi is a Class D competitive karuta player at the Shiranami Society. He remains in the developing ranks of organized competition and is still building the fundamentals needed for advancement.

Training at Shiranami places him within the same established society that develops numerous more experienced players. No distinctive specialist technique or exceptional sensory ability is established for him.

Haruomi first appears with his brothers through Akihiro's family life. Their enthusiasm establishes that Mizusawa's new player has a group of younger siblings who closely follow his accomplishments.

The brothers subsequently become members of Shiranami, turning their interest from spectatorship into direct participation. They form part of the society's youngest generation while continuing to appear around Akihiro's competitive life.

Akihiro Tsukuba is Haruomi's eldest brother and the player he most openly admires. Haruomi enthusiastically follows Akihiro Tsukuba's competitive progress.

Fuyumasa Tsukuba and Natsusou Tsukuba are Haruomi's brothers and fellow young karuta players. Fuyumasa Tsukuba, Haruomi and Natsusou Tsukuba frequently appear together while supporting their eldest brother.

Hideo Harada heads the Fuchu Shiranami Karuta Society where Haruomi trains.
