Fuyumasa Tsukuba

Fuyumasa is enthusiastic about his eldest brother and readily joins his younger siblings in treating Akihiro as an impressive karuta player. The brothers' admiration frequently reinforces Akihiro's own confidence.

His individual characterization is limited because the three younger brothers generally appear together. Their shared enthusiasm and close family dynamic are more firmly established than sharply differentiated personalities.

Fuyumasa plays competitive karuta and is a Class D member of the Shiranami Society. His classification places him in the developing ranks of organized competition.

Training at Shiranami gives him access to an established society headed by Hideo Harada. No distinctive playing style or unusual sensory ability is established for Fuyumasa.

Fuyumasa first appears through Akihiro's family life. He and his brothers attend and follow their eldest brother's competitive activities, revealing the enthusiastic family audience behind Mizusawa's newer player.

The younger brothers subsequently become involved with Shiranami themselves. Their participation extends the Tsukuba family's connection to karuta beyond Akihiro and places another group of young beginners within Harada's society.

Akihiro Tsukuba is Fuyumasa's eldest brother and the player he most enthusiastically supports. Fuyumasa looks up to Akihiro Tsukuba and closely follows his high-school competition.

Haruomi Tsukuba and Natsusou Tsukuba are Fuyumasa's younger brothers. Fuyumasa, Haruomi Tsukuba and Natsusou Tsukuba usually appear together when supporting their eldest brother.

Hideo Harada heads the Shiranami Society where Fuyumasa develops as a young karuta player.
