Guarana is an agile swordswoman who commands the Carbonated Sword Unit. Her combat style emphasizes rapid movement and close-range sword attacks.

She demonstrates enough strength and resolve to take part in an assault on the Thousand Sunny and later confront Boa Hancock.

Guarana participates in the Cidre Guild's attempt to attack the Straw Hat Pirates and capture valuable targets. Her unit works alongside other divisions of the organization during its operations.

She later battles Boa Hancock as the Straw Hats and their allies become increasingly involved with Cidre's organization.
