Griffon Kato

Griff is talkative, excitable, devoted to Plue, and shamelessly lecherous. He addresses Plue with exaggerated respect as "Master Plue" and frequently treats the small creature as someone deserving reverence.

He also has a pronounced interest in attractive women and openly seeks excuses to make physical contact with them.

Away from those comedic tendencies, Griff is a useful traveling companion. His work as a cartographer and his ability to communicate information make him considerably more practical than his appearance suggests.

Griff's body is composed of a jelly-like material that can change shape to a limited degree.

He can elongate his arms and other portions of his body, inflate himself, and alter his proportions without suffering normal bodily injury from the deformation.

His powers are primarily supportive and comedic rather than suited to high-level combat. Griff is not shown matching Haru, Elie, or Let as a frontline fighter.

His most important practical role within the Rave Warriors is cartography, helping the group navigate its long journey.

Griff travels with the Rave Warriors when Haru and Elie become separated from the rest of the group.

He and Plue eventually locate Elie while she is speaking with Lucy and Happy. Lucy initially assumes that Griff and Plue may both be unusual Celestial Spirits.

The encounter produces several misunderstandings, particularly because Lucy also summons a spirit named Plue.

Griff accompanies the group toward the casino after an explosion interrupts their conversation. He witnesses the confrontation involving Haru, Natsu, and Erza before the two traveling parties reunite.

In the OVA, Griff is present during Klodoa's attack and afterward continues traveling with the Rave Warriors.

Outside the direct crossover, versions of Griff make several cameo appearances throughout Fairy Tail, including scenes around the guild and during the Grand Magic Games period.

Haru Glory is one of Griff's principal traveling companions.

Elie travels with Griff, although his lecherous behavior occasionally makes his interest in her inappropriate.

Plue is the companion Griff reverently calls "Master Plue."

Lucy Heartfilia meets Griff while searching for Natsu.

Happy is present during Griff's first direct crossover meeting with Fairy Tail.

Natsu Dragneel and Erza Scarlet become involved with Griff's group through the casino misunderstanding.
