Goumon

Goumon is quirky, theatrical, and deeply devoted to Avatar's worship of Zeref. His attempt to resemble Zeref includes clothing chosen in the Dark Mage's honor and kanji placed on his forehead that he mistakenly believes spell Zeref's name.

He repeatedly says "tea" without explanation and bows with exaggerated courtesy, creating a strange contrast with his willingness to subject prisoners to brutal torture.

Goumon nevertheless displays genuine concern for his comrades. Discovering Abel defeated causes him visible distress, and he immediately moves to confront the intruders responsible.

Goumon practices Torture Magic, a specialized form of Black Magic that lets him telekinetically control numerous torture instruments.

His arsenal includes chains, whips, axes, hot wax, an iron maiden, garden implements, waterboarding equipment, restraints, and a triangular wooden torture device. He can launch these objects through the air in large numbers, turning implements normally intended for restrained prisoners into battlefield weapons.

Goumon also carries sealing stone restraints capable of suppressing a mage after capture. His initial offensive power is insufficient to overwhelm Natsu directly, but a surprise attack with the restraints allows him to help immobilize the Dragon Slayer.

Goumon participates in Avatar's meetings concerning both the purification ritual and the possibility that someone within the cult is secretly working against them.

When Team Natsu enters Avatar's headquarters, he finds Abel defeated and attacks Natsu Dragneel. Natsu initially knocks him down, but Goumon returns while Natsu is distracted by Gray and traps him with sealing stone restraints.

Goumon later visits the cell containing Natsu, Lucy Heartfilia, and Happy, demanding to know who sent them to infiltrate Avatar. When Natsu insists that they came solely to recover Gray, Goumon refuses to believe him.

His planned interrogation of Lucy escalates from humiliating torture to an attempted execution.

Gray reveals that he is acting against Avatar and freezes Goumon before he can harm Lucy. Goumon is left restrained on one of his own torture devices and is later discovered by Gajeel during the Magic Council's operation against the cult.

Abel is Goumon's fellow cultist, and Goumon becomes angry after finding him defeated.

Gray Fullbuster gains Goumon's trust while embedded within Avatar but ultimately turns against the cult and freezes him while rescuing Natsu and Lucy.

Natsu Dragneel fights Goumon during the infiltration of Avatar's headquarters.

Lucy Heartfilia becomes Goumon's intended torture victim after being captured.

Happy is imprisoned alongside Natsu and Lucy during Goumon's interrogation.

Alok leads the branch of Avatar to which Goumon belongs.

Gajeel Redfox later discovers the restrained Goumon while operating with the Magic Council.
