Genbu

Genbu is jovial, sociable, and fond of alcohol. Despite his sharp features and somewhat intimidating design, his significant appearances consistently show him enjoying celebrations rather than behaving aggressively.

He accepts Senku Ishigami's sudden political elevation with remarkably little resistance. Whether motivated by genuine approval or simply the prospect of another party, Genbu adapts easily to the change.

His enthusiasm is particularly visible around Ganen and Unmo, who form an informal celebration group whenever the village has reason to drink.

Genbu does not have a documented specialized scientific skill or major combat feat.

His clothing includes two knives similar in general form to weapons used elsewhere in Ishigami Village, but canon does not provide enough combat material to classify him as a dedicated fighter.

As an adult villager, he participates in the wider community whose fishing, gathering, construction, and manual labor sustain Ishigami Village and later the Kingdom of Science.

Genbu first receives a prominent moment immediately after the Grand Bout, when he informs Senku that the village intends to celebrate his victory and marriage to Ruri.

Senku reacts by immediately seeking a divorce and taking containers useful for scientific work, leaving the celebrants stunned.

After Ruri is cured and Kokuyo formally accepts Senku's new position, the village celebrates again. Genbu enthusiastically pours alcohol for Chrome while Ganen and Unmo join the festivities.

Beyond these scenes, Genbu remains part of Ishigami Village's civilian population.

Ganen is one of Genbu's most frequent companions during celebrations.

Unmo joins Genbu and Ganen as another enthusiastic participant in village parties.

Senku Ishigami's Grand Bout victory provides the occasion for Genbu's first significant appearance.

Chrome becomes the recipient of Genbu's enthusiastic alcohol-pouring during a later celebration.

Ruri's marriage and recovery provide the events around which Genbu's early scenes take place.
