Garuga

Garuga initially behaves like a brutish, obedient henchman. He allows Koashura to appear as the mastermind of the kidnapping and follows his instructions while applying the physical intimidation necessary to keep Koenma captive.

The apparent simplicity is deceptive. Garuga is patient enough to remain subordinate until the Golden Seal is within reach and manipulates Koashura's personal resentment for his own benefit.

His real identity as Yasha reveals that Garuga's loyalty was entirely false. He is an ambitious wanted demon interested in the Golden Seal's power rather than Koashura's revenge.

Garuga possesses considerable physical strength and durability, fitting the enormous demon form he uses while serving Koashura.

A reflector embedded in his chest can redirect projectile attacks, including Yuusuke's Spirit Gun. This makes direct ranged attacks ineffective unless the reflector itself can be neutralized.

In his true form as Yasha, he becomes a more dangerous opponent and reveals the strength he had concealed while posing as Koashura's subordinate. His defensive reflector remains central to his fighting style.

Garuga helps Koashura abduct Koenma while Yuusuke and Kuwabara are on vacation. The kidnappers demand that Great King Enma's Golden Seal be delivered to Magma Valley before the deadline.

Yuusuke's group follows Botan's request to rescue Koenma, fighting through additional demons before reaching the kidnappers.

Once the Golden Seal is available, Garuga reveals himself as the wanted demon Yasha, betrays Koashura, and attempts to take the seal for himself. Yuusuke eventually defeats him by using magma to block the reflector on his chest before firing his attack.

Koashura believes Garuga is his loyal subordinate and relies on him during the kidnapping. Garuga is actually manipulating him and betrays him once the Golden Seal is within reach.

Koenma is Garuga's hostage and the means through which the kidnappers attempt to obtain the Golden Seal.

Yuusuke Urameshi becomes Garuga's principal opponent during the rescue mission.

Botan identifies Garuga's true identity as Yasha, a wanted demon during the confrontation.
