He is also quick-witted enough to assess unfamiliar visitors and rapidly understand that his Earth Land counterpart and the other arriving mages are connected to Edolas's larger crisis.

Edolas Gajeel appears in the royal capital during the conflict surrounding Anima and the extraction of Magic Power from Earth Land.

He encounters Earth Land Gajeel and is immediately confronted with someone who looks almost exactly like him but possesses a radically different personality and profession.
