Fukiko Hanyuu

Fukiko is cautious, independent and unwilling to confuse cooperation with trust. She and her brother contribute to the defense of the hideout while maintaining their own plans and reservations about the people running it.

Her friendship with Takashi shows a warmer side of her personality. He arrives as another outsider rather than a longstanding devotee of Kurusu, making him easier for the siblings to trust.

Fukiko's priority is survival with her brother, not loyalty to the ideology surrounding Kurusu. That distinction becomes increasingly important as tensions within the survivor network grow.

Fukiko is an experienced crossbow user. The weapon allows her to attack ZQN at range without relying on scarce firearm ammunition and makes her useful as an outpost guard.

She works as a pair with Hanyuu, allowing the siblings to cover one another and maintain watch over approaches to the hideout.

Fukiko has no established anomalous ZQN abilities. Her effectiveness is based on weapon proficiency, caution and coordination with her brother.

Fukiko and Hanyuu man an outpost near Kurusu's main base. Takashi meets them after joining the community and develops a friendly relationship with the siblings.

Although they help defend the area, the pair do not intend to remain under Kurusu indefinitely. Hanyuu confides in Takashi that they plan to take a boat along the nearby river and escape together rather than continue living under the increasingly unstable group.

Their attempt to separate themselves from Kurusu's faction places them directly in the path of the group's internal violence, becoming an important turning point in Takashi's relationship with Kurusu.

Hanyuu is Fukiko's brother and closest companion. Fukiko Hanyuu and Hanyuu operate their outpost together and share the intention of eventually leaving the area.

Takashi Ezaki becomes Fukiko's friend after arriving at the hideout. The siblings trust Takashi Ezaki enough to discuss their reservations about the group and their plans for escape.

Kurusu is the leader whose nearby hideout Fukiko and her brother help protect, but neither sibling fully trusts Kurusu or his followers.
