Elendira the Crimsonnail

Manga Elendira is flamboyant, playful and supremely confident in her ability. Her light manner can disappear quickly when challenged, and she has little hesitation about demonstrating violence even against nominal allies.

She particularly resents Legato Bluesummers' unusual standing with Knives. Legato does not possess a Gung-Ho Gun number, which Elendira interprets as evidence that his relationship with their master places him above the numbered assassins.

Stampede gives Elendira a much more overtly childish personality. She behaves like a young child despite the extraordinary destructive abilities produced through Conrad's research.

In the manga, Elendira carries a large briefcase that transforms into a weapon capable of launching enormous nails. She can fire multiple projectiles with tremendous speed and accuracy, producing attacks powerful enough to drive opponents through buildings.

Restraining armor worn beneath her clothing limits her physical abilities. Removing those restraints reveals extraordinary speed beyond even her already formidable normal performance.

Elendira can also induce a terrifying sensory experience through physical contact, making a victim perceive an intensely realistic image of their own death. Stampede changes her powers, presenting her as an artificial human-Plant hybrid capable of generating and manipulating nails directly.

Elendira appears in Trigun Maximum as the mysterious thirteenth member associated with the Gung-Ho Guns and Millions Knives. She operates near the upper levels of Knives's organization rather than functioning as another disposable assassin.

She openly clashes with Legato and later becomes one of the most dangerous opponents facing Livio. Their first major battle demonstrates the enormous gap between them when Elendira overwhelms Livio and leaves him impaled by her nails, although his enhanced regeneration saves him.

Livio later confronts her again during the final conflict. With Razlo's abilities and his own growth, he manages to keep fighting despite repeated impalement and ultimately kills Elendira by turning one of her own nails against her.

Millions Knives is Elendira's master and the central figure around whom her manga allegiance is organized.

Legato Bluesummers is a fellow servant of Knives whom Elendira openly dislikes. She is particularly irritated that Legato's lack of a Gung-Ho Gun number appears to signify a privileged position.

Livio becomes Elendira's major opponent during the later manga. She nearly kills him during their first battle, but he survives and eventually defeats her in their rematch.

Razlo the Tri-Punisher of Death participates through Livio during the struggle against Elendira. Their combined capabilities eventually allow Livio to contend with her speed.

William Conrad has a fundamentally different connection to Elendira in Stampede. That continuity presents her as a human-Plant hybrid created through Conrad's research.
