Personality
Personality
Drakon is sincere, disciplined and strongly shaped by his military upbringing. As a teenager, he believes a soldier's duty to the state should override personal survival and initially regards Sinbad's rejection of such thinking as irresponsible.
Experience gradually changes him. His rigid loyalty shifts away from Parthevia's institutions and toward people he believes genuinely deserve his service. Even after becoming one of Sinbad's companions, he retains the bearing of a professional officer and enjoys instructing subordinates.
Despite his intimidating appearance, his wife is famously his weakness.
Abilities & Powers
Abilities & Powers
Drakon is a trained swordsman and veteran military commander. Before his physical transformation, he also uses a magical lightning gun capable of firing concentrated or dispersed electrical projectiles.
His Household Vessel, Bararaq Barasikh, derives from Sinbad's Djinn Baal. It covers his body in dragon-like scales that provide both offensive and defensive advantages while electrical stimulation dramatically increases his muscular power.
Repeated use and assimilation with the Household Vessel transforms Drakon's body into the enormous reptilian form seen in the main series. He can also alter his size and produce a powerful breath attack.
Story Role
Story Role
Drakon's history is explored extensively in Adventure of Sinbad. As a teenage Parthevian officer, he enters Baal's Dungeon intending to claim its power for his country and encounters Sinbad there.
After Sinbad captures Baal, Drakon repeatedly crosses paths with him while serving Parthevia. Their antagonistic relationship gradually becomes one of respect.
Political turmoil in Parthevia eventually forces Drakon to flee. Continued reliance on his Household Vessel causes his assimilation to progress until he takes on his dragon-like appearance. He ultimately accepts Sinbad as his king and becomes one of the Eight Generals.
