Dolge

Dolge is proud, hot-blooded and deeply loyal to the Kouga Clan. He takes his responsibilities as a warrior seriously and initially interprets unfamiliar situations through the need to protect his people.

Despite his temper, Dolge is fundamentally kind. His suspicion of Aladdin fades as he learns more about him, and he readily treats the traveler as a friend once he is satisfied that Aladdin means the clan no harm.

His strongest emotional reactions involve Toya and Baba. Threats against either can push him toward reckless anger, while their influence is also capable of pulling him back from violence.

Dolge is a trained Kouga warrior skilled with a sword. His upbringing among a horse-raiding clan gives him practical martial experience even before supernatural abilities enter his life.

After the Kouga Clan becomes associated with Hakuei, Dolge becomes one of her Household Members and gains access to power derived from Paimon. By the Magnostadt conflict, he commands Kouga Household Vessel users serving under Hakuei.

His later position demonstrates considerable growth from a young clan warrior into a military leader capable of participating in major battles.

Dolge finds Aladdin after the young Magi is transported away from Qishan and brings him back to the Kouga settlement. Although suspicious of Aladdin's strange arrival, he gradually accepts him.

The Kou Empire's expansion soon places the clan in danger. Dolge is among the warriors who resist slave hunters attacking their people, and his anger becomes especially intense when Toya is threatened.

Baba's final decision brings the Kouga Clan into the Kou Empire without the war Ryosai hoped to provoke. Dolge later enters Hakuei's service and becomes a captain among the Kouga warriors using her Household power.

Toya is Dolge's childhood friend and implied romantic interest. His feelings are obvious enough for other clan members to tease him, and he becomes fiercely protective whenever she is endangered.

Baba is the Kouga elder whom Dolge deeply respects. Her commitment to avoiding pointless bloodshed restrains his more aggressive instincts.

Aladdin is found and rescued by Dolge. Initial suspicion develops into friendship during Aladdin's time with the Kouga.

Hakuei Ren becomes Dolge's commander after the Kouga are incorporated into Kou, and Dolge eventually becomes one of the Household Members drawing power from her Djinn, Paimon.

Ryosai is an enemy whose actions threaten the Kouga and attempt to provoke them into war.
