Dazuu Tayaku

Dazuu initially appears meek, reserved, and accustomed to suppressing her feelings. Growing up with unusually little magical power subjects her to ridicule even from people she considers friends, leaving her convinced that the Clover Kingdom has no meaningful place for people like her.

Her bitterness deepens after the destruction caused by the Elf Reincarnation crisis. She comes to view Magic Knights, nobles, and the kingdom's magical hierarchy as institutions that protect the powerful while ordinary civilians bear the consequences of their battles.

Dazuu is nevertheless capable of self-awareness. During her confrontation with Asta, she recognizes that he endured similar discrimination without developing the same hatred and admits that part of her wishes she could have responded as he did.

Dazuu uses Catalyst Magic. Rather than producing a strong independent effect, her attribute allows her to combine the magic of other people and create a new result from their attributes.

As a child, she combines Water Magic and Wind Magic from two other people to produce rain. The ability demonstrates unusual technical potential, but Dazuu's own low mana reserves prevent her from being recognized as a conventionally powerful mage.

Her effectiveness during the Devil Banishers storyline therefore comes more from planning, cooperation, deception, and exploiting prepared situations than from direct battlefield strength.

Dazuu's story is anime-original and begins in the aftermath of the Elf Reincarnation crisis. Years of social humiliation combine with personal losses suffered during the widespread destruction, pushing her toward others who believe the kingdom has abandoned ordinary people.

She joins Bou Nokude and other dissidents in the Devil Banishers, initially presenting the movement as an effort to remove devil-related threats from the Clover Kingdom.

The organization targets Asta and Secre Swallowtail, whose devil-related powers have become public knowledge. Dazuu's personal interest in Asta grows because he represents someone born without magical power who nevertheless achieved the recognition she was denied.

The movement eventually reveals itself as the Devil Believers. Rather than destroying devil power, Dazuu and her closest followers hope to reach the Spade Kingdom and gain that power for themselves, believing it will allow society's weakest people to overturn the system that rejected them.

Bou Nokude is Dazuu's closest ally and confidante. Their dissatisfaction with the Clover Kingdom eventually develops into the Devil Banishers and later the Devil Believers.

Asta fascinates Dazuu because he was born without magic yet gained strength and acceptance through persistence. She recognizes uncomfortable similarities between their beginnings despite their radically different responses to rejection.

Secre Swallowtail becomes one of the Devil Banishers' principal targets because of her connection to Forbidden Magic and devils.

Vide is Dazuu's husband, while Meshu is her mother-in-law. Their deaths during the destruction surrounding the elf attacks become part of the trauma that accelerates Dazuu's radicalization.
