Bou Nokude

Bou is intelligent, capable, and initially compassionate. As an apothecary, she treats people who need medical help and shows kindness toward Dazu Tayak before the two become political allies.

Her resentment grows from the destruction inflicted on commoners and her belief that the Magic Knights have failed the people they are supposed to protect. That anger gradually hardens into extremism. She becomes willing to abduct others, use poison, and employ violence in pursuit of the group's goals.

Bou is also more pragmatic than many of her allies. Her medical and pharmaceutical knowledge makes her one of the group's most capable planners, and she recognizes when emotion or fanaticism threatens their objective.

Bou uses Plant Magic, allowing her to generate and manipulate plant life.

Her profession as an apothecary gives her extensive knowledge of medicines, herbs, and poisons. Rather than relying entirely on direct magical combat, she prepares substances capable of incapacitating even powerful mages.

She uses poisonous gas during the Devil Banishers' attack on the Black Bulls, demonstrating that her threat comes as much from preparation and pharmacology as raw magical power.

Bou's story belongs to the anime-original Devil Banishers storyline. In Tiulyu, she treats an injury suffered by Dazu and offers her shelter, establishing their relationship before the aftermath of the elf attacks changes both women's lives.

After the devastation, Bou and Dazu become convinced that the kingdom has abandoned people like them. They recruit Kabwe Carillon and other sympathizers into the Devil Banishers.

The group targets Asta and Secre Swallowtail, whom public accusations have associated with devil power. Bou uses poisonous gas to incapacitate them during an abduction attempt, while Noelle Silva tries to intervene.

The Devil Banishers increasingly transform into the Devil Believers, seeking the power of devils rather than merely their destruction. Bou ultimately joins Dazu and other outcasts in attempting to leave the Clover Kingdom for the Spade Kingdom, believing devil power offers people without privilege a path to strength.

Dazu Tayak is Bou's closest companion and ideological partner. Bou first treats her as an apothecary and later joins her in forming the movement that becomes the Devil Believers.

Kabwe Carillon is recruited by Bou and Dazu because his position within the Magic Parliament gives their group useful information and access.

Asta becomes one of Bou's targets because of his connection to a devil and the accusations surrounding the Elf Reincarnation crisis.

Secre Swallowtail is abducted alongside Asta because of her association with Forbidden Magic and devil-related accusations.

Noelle Silva attempts to stop the Devil Banishers when Bou and her allies attack the Black Bulls.
