Damamu

Damamu is cheerful, innocent and relentlessly playful. He interprets much of the world through games and amusement, often reacting to serious situations with the enthusiasm of a young child.

That innocence makes him affectionate toward the people around him. Damamu quickly forms attachments and generally wants to accompany his friends rather than pursue complicated ambitions of his own.

He can nevertheless become extremely destructive without fully appreciating the consequences. His enormous power and immature understanding of the world make supervision important, particularly when excitement causes him to grow or act impulsively.

Damamu possesses extraordinary physical power derived from Earthdamar. He can change his size, ranging from a small companion to a gigantic form capable of causing significant destruction simply through movement.

He has superhuman strength and resilience and can interact with forms of energy connected to Earthdamar. His abilities do not operate according to the limitations of ordinary human biology.

The nature of Earthdamar eventually proves deeply connected to the Velgearians and the mechanisms underlying their existence, making Damamu's seemingly playful powers important to the wider conflict.

Damamu also learns about Rush Dueling through his companions, though his primary importance comes from his supernatural abilities rather than conventional Dueling skill.

Damamu emerges when Earthdamar separates into an independent, childlike being. His appearance gives Yuhi and the others a living manifestation of a phenomenon they had previously struggled to understand.

He quickly becomes a companion to Yuhi, Yuamu Ohdo and Yudias Velgear, accompanying them through the continuing conflict involving the Velgearians.

Damamu's origin and abilities become increasingly important as Earthdamar is revealed to have a fundamental connection to the existence of Velgearians. His power consequently becomes relevant to conflicts capable of affecting an entire species rather than simply the people around UTS.

Yuhi Ohdo has the closest connection to Damamu because the being manifests from Earthdamar associated with him. Damamu develops an affectionate bond with Yuhi Ohdo after gaining an independent existence.

Yuamu Ohdo becomes one of Damamu's regular companions and helps deal with the chaos his playful behavior can create.

Yudias Velgear befriends Damamu through the group's adventures. [The connection between Earthdamar and Velgearian existence eventually makes Yudias Velgear's relationship with Damamu much more significant than either initially understands.](#spoiler)

Zwijo Zir Velgear also becomes connected to Damamu through his investigations into Earthdamar and its extraordinary properties.
