Daiji Hirasago

Daiji is brash, theatrical and proud of his reputation. His self-aggrandizing introduction fits the rough gang culture of Kusajishi, but he proves more dependable than his boasting initially suggests.

He treats Ganju as a trusted brother and responds when the Bounts attempt to exploit Rukongai’s discontent. His courage is practical rather than supernatural.

Daiji is physically capable enough to lead a group of Kusajishi fighters and carries a staff. No spiritual technique, Zanpakutō or Doll is attributed to him.

His effectiveness comes from local influence and knowledge. He can rally gang members and identify shifts among Kusajishi’s criminal groups, but the episode gives him no major individual battle.

Daiji informs Ganju that Kariya is recruiting Kusajishi thugs for an uprising against Seireitei. He initially appears among the district’s bullies but ultimately sides against the Bount scheme.

He rallies his followers and helps Ganju attack the Bount base in Kusajishi, disrupting their efforts to turn Rukongai residents into expendable troops. He survives the confrontation and receives no later storyline.

Ganju Shiba is Daiji’s friend and sworn brother. Daiji provides him with local intelligence and supports his intervention against the Bounts.

Jin Kariya is the invading leader whose recruitment campaign threatens Kusajishi. Their connection is adversarial rather than personal.
