Clarice Fia Atlee

Clarice initially presents herself as bold, intimidating and rebellious. Her altered appearance and the followers surrounding her reflect the emotional damage caused by her broken engagement rather than her original personality.

Beneath that exterior, Clarice is affectionate and capable of considerable sincerity. Much of her hostility toward Jilk comes from wanting a direct explanation from someone she had genuinely expected to marry. His refusal to face her leaves anger where affection once existed.

She responds strongly to people who treat her concerns seriously. Leon's willingness to become involved in the dispute despite having little to gain earns her gratitude and creates a far more positive relationship than their unusual first encounter suggests.

Clarice is an experienced air-bike rider and comes from a family heavily involved in racing and hover-bike production. The Atlee household's connection to the racing industry gives her access to high-quality machines and considerable familiarity with the sport.

She also possesses the education expected of the daughter of a prominent court noble. Her family has significant influence despite not being a major territorial house.

Later, Clarice becomes involved in government administration and logistics, demonstrating organizational ability well beyond her academy racing activities.

Clarice enters Leon's story through the air-bike race. Still furious over Jilk's treatment of her, she and her followers interfere with him during the competition.

Leon becomes caught between Clarice and Jilk but recognizes that her anger stems from the way Jilk avoided giving her proper closure. He ultimately pushes Jilk into meeting Clarice directly rather than continuing to hide from the consequences of his decision.

The confrontation helps Clarice move beyond the fixation that had shaped her behavior since the engagement ended. Her connection with Leon remains important long after the racing incident, and she later works alongside other prominent Holfort nobles during national crises.

Jilk Fia Marmoria is Clarice's former fiancé. She had genuine feelings for him, making his refusal to end their engagement face-to-face particularly painful.

Leon Fou Bartfort becomes involved in Clarice's dispute with Jilk Fia Marmoria and persuades him to give her the direct conversation she had repeatedly requested.

Bernard Fia Atlee is Clarice's father and head of the Atlee household.

Dan Fia Elgar is one of Clarice's loyal followers and supports her during the period following her broken engagement.

Deirdre Fou Roseblade later works closely with Clarice on political and logistical duties during major national conflicts.
