Chousou

Chousou is serious, reserved, stubborn, and almost completely defined at first by devotion to his brothers. He has little interest in the disaster curses' philosophical desire to replace humanity; his cooperation with them is practical because incarnating the Death Paintings gives his family the opportunity to live independently.

His attachment to Eso and Kechizu is unusually intense. Chousou can sense changes in his brothers through their shared blood connection and reacts violently when he realizes that they have been killed. Revenge consequently becomes his primary motivation when he enters the Shibuya operation.

Chousou believes the eldest brother should establish a path for younger siblings to follow, protect them when they make mistakes, and accept responsibility without demanding repayment. That principle gradually expands beyond Eso and Kechizu as his understanding of his own family changes.

He is socially awkward outside that role. Once he accepts someone as family, however, his seriousness can become almost comically overprotective, with elaborate internal reasoning about what a proper older brother should do.

Chousou inherited Blood Manipulation, the prized technique of the Kamo clan. He can control his blood both inside and outside his body, changing its shape, pressure, speed, and physical properties for combat.

Piercing Blood compresses blood with Convergence before releasing it as a highly pressurized projectile capable of reaching tremendous speed. Supernova detonates numerous condensed blood projectiles around a target, while Slicing Exorcism forms cutting streams of blood.

Flowing Red Scale manipulates internal blood properties to improve physical performance. Chousou can further increase the technique's effect around his eyes to sharpen perception during close combat.

His Death Painting physiology gives Blood Manipulation a major advantage. Unlike human users, Chousou can convert cursed energy into blood, making blood loss much less restrictive as long as cursed energy remains available. His blood is also poisonous to ordinary humans because of his mixed nature.

He can sense his brothers through blood ties, an ability that alerts him when Eso and Kechizu are in mortal danger.

Chousou, Eso, and Kechizu are among the Death Painting Wombs stolen from Jujutsu High and incarnated through human vessels. Chousou remains with Mahito's group while his two younger brothers are sent elsewhere and later encounter Yuuji and Nobara.

After sensing their deaths, Chousou enters Shibuya with a direct objective: kill the people responsible. He eventually finds Yuuji Itadori inside the station and engages him in a prolonged close-range fight.

Chousou uses Blood Manipulation to control distance while Yuuji attempts to exploit the technique's dependence on blood through the station's restroom water. Chousou ultimately adapts and gains the advantage.

Immediately before delivering the final blow, Chousou experiences an impossible memory of Yuuji eating together with himself, Eso, and Kechizu. He retreats in confusion, later realizing through his blood connection and Kenjaku's history that Yuuji is also his brother.

Chousou turns against Kenjaku and begins openly protecting Yuuji. He remains with Master Tengen as one of the guards assigned to oppose Kenjaku and later fights alongside Yuki Tsukumo.

During the final battle against Sukuna, Chousou continues acting as Yuuji's elder brother and helps him develop Blood Manipulation. He ultimately shields Yuuji from Sukuna's flames and dies protecting him.

Eso and Kechizu are Chousou's younger brothers and the emotional center of his early story. Their deaths motivate his participation in Shibuya.

Noranso, Shou-oso, Tanso, Sanso, Kotsuso, and Shoso are the remaining Death Painting brothers who never receive the same opportunity for independent incarnation as the eldest three.

Yuuji Itadori begins as the target of Chousou's revenge. Chousou later recognizes Yuuji as his younger brother through their shared connection to Kenjaku and becomes one of his most protective allies.

Kenjaku is responsible for the experiments that produced the Death Paintings. Chousou despises him as the parent who manipulated both his mother and the circumstances of his brothers' creation.

Mahito helps incarnate Chousou and his brothers but never earns Chousou's deeper loyalty.

Yuki Tsukumo later becomes Chousou's ally while guarding Master Tengen and encourages him to stop defining himself solely as a cursed being.

Master Tengen receives Chousou's protection during the preparations following Shibuya.
