Bud Walker

Bud is relaxed, sociable and considerably less severe than several of his fellow American stars. His career in entertainment shapes how he sees competition: the audience matters, and spectacular play has value beyond the scoreboard.

He is confident in both his athletic ability and celebrity. That confidence occasionally turns into playful jealousy toward Clifford D. Lewis, whose popularity irritates him despite Bud being the professional movie star of the group. Their exchanges are competitive rather than genuinely hostile.

Bud also enjoys joking around, making him one of the more approachable personalities among Team USA's intimidating Pentagram.

Bud is an elite cornerback who combines exceptional speed with enormous upper-body strength. A 4.4-second 40-yard dash allows him to remain with fast receivers, while his 150 kg bench press gives him the physical power to contest them directly.

His combination of power, speed and technique earns him a place in the Pentagram, the five American players considered leading candidates for the Youth World Cup MVP award.

His experience performing his own film stunts also fits his athletic profile. Bud is accustomed to demanding physical movement outside football and actively embraces spectacular situations.

Bud appears during the Youth World Cup as part of the heavily favored United States team. The Americans enter the tournament with several players whose individual abilities appear to exceed those of nearly every other national side.

As Team USA's premier cornerback, Bud contributes to the defensive side of the Pentagram while Panther and Clifford headline its offense.

Japan eventually advances to the championship game against the United States, forcing Bud and the other American stars to confront a team assembled from many of the rivals who had defined the Japanese high-school season.

Clifford D. Lewis is Bud's teammate and someone he jokes with frequently. Bud shows mild jealousy toward Clifford D. Lewis's popularity, but their rivalry is playful.
