Aquavit

Aquavit is shown publicly as a talkative tour guide with enough knowledge of Toronto to present the city to visitors. This ordinary occupation provides an effective contrast with his clandestine work as an intelligence operative.

Little of his personality is explored directly because his appearance is brief. His ability to function inside the Black Organization nevertheless requires him to keep his genuine allegiance concealed from colleagues who respond lethally to suspected betrayal.

Aquavit is a trained Canadian intelligence operative capable of infiltrating a highly dangerous international criminal organization. His assignment requires covert communication, information gathering and the maintenance of a convincing criminal cover.

He also has a strong memory suited to his civilian work as a tour guide, allowing him to provide visitors with information about Toronto and the CN Tower.

His intelligence training cannot protect him once Curaçao obtains records identifying undercover operatives within the Black Organization. With his true allegiance compromised, the organization can target him directly.

Aquavit appears during the international purge that follows Curaçao's theft of classified information from the National Police Agency. The stolen records include the identities of intelligence operatives who have infiltrated the Black Organization.

He is in Toronto when the organization acts on the information. His situation parallels those of Stout in London and Riesling in Germany.

Chianti assassinates Aquavit at the CN Tower after his identity as a CSIS infiltrator is exposed. His elimination demonstrates how rapidly the organization can respond once an undercover agent's identity becomes known.

Curaçao obtains the classified data that includes Aquavit's identity as an undercover CSIS operative. The theft of that information destroys Aquavit's cover within the Black Organization.
