Aoga

Aoga is responsible and protective toward the younger students placed under his supervision. When the exercise becomes a real attack, he tries to retaliate after Kanisawa is killed.

His later visit to her grave shows enduring loyalty and grief. He also allows Hisagi to learn how deeply Kanisawa cared for their classmate.

As a sixth-year academy student, Aoga has training in swordsmanship and basic Soul Reaper disciplines. His effort to fight the attacking Hollows demonstrates courage but ends in severe injury.

He later joins the medical Fourth Division, though no named healing technique is shown. His Zanpakutō and any released form remain unidentified.

Aoga, Hisagi and Kanisawa supervise first-year students during a Konsou and Hollow-combat exercise in the Human World. Powerful Hollows invade the training ground and kill Kanisawa before impaling Aoga.

Hisagi and the younger students are rescued, while Aoga survives his wounds. Years later, during the Quincy war, the adult Aoga appears as a Fourth Division member and visits Kanisawa’s grave with Hisagi.

Shuuhei Hisagi is Aoga’s academy classmate, mission partner and later companion at Kanisawa’s grave. Hotaru Kanisawa is their fellow student whose death Aoga attempts to avenge.

Momo Hinamori, Renji Abarai and Izuru Kira are among the first-year students placed under the senior trio’s supervision.
