Akinori Konoha

Konoha is observant, competitive and prone to teasing the people around him. He is particularly willing to make sarcastic remarks about Koutarou Bokuto's eccentric behavior, having spent years dealing with his captain's mood swings.

His complaints do not undermine his reliability. Konoha understands when Bokuto needs support and when Fukuroudani simply needs to continue playing without depending on its ace.

He possesses the composure expected of an experienced third-year. When a rally breaks down, Konoha is comfortable abandoning the intended play and filling whatever role is necessary.

Konoha is a versatile all-round player. He can attack, receive, block and set, allowing Fukuroudani to preserve its offense when a rally develops unpredictably.

His setting is particularly useful for a non-setter. When Keiji Akaashi handles the first contact, Konoha can take the second ball and provide an effective set rather than forcing Fukuroudani into an emergency attack.

Although he lacks the overwhelming specialization of Bokuto, his broad skill set makes him valuable precisely because opponents cannot reduce his role to one function.

Konoha becomes visible during the Tokyo training camps, participating in Fukuroudani's repeated practice matches with Karasuno, Nekoma and the other schools.

His play demonstrates why Fukuroudani can remain strong even when Bokuto enters one of his slumps. Players such as Konoha and Akaashi redistribute responsibilities and maintain the team's structure until their ace recovers.

Konoha continues serving that all-purpose role during Fukuroudani's national tournament campaign. After graduation, he works for a pharmaceutical company and continues playing volleyball with a company team.

Koutarou Bokuto is Konoha's captain and ace. Konoha frequently complains about his eccentricities but knows how to support him.

Keiji Akaashi is Fukuroudani's setter and works closely with Konoha when the team's normal formation breaks down.

Tatsuki Washio and Yamato Sarukui are fellow third-years who form Fukuroudani's experienced core alongside Konoha and Bokuto.
