Wash is cheerful, energetic, and difficult to interpret because much of his dialogue consists of laundry-themed vocalizations rather than conventional speech.

His high professional ranking indicates that the unusual presentation does not undermine his reputation as a capable hero. Wash's specialty is rescue and support, and he repeatedly prioritizes evacuating or treating civilians rather than pursuing dramatic individual battles.

He also embraces his distinctive image as part of his public identity, including appearing in advertising connected to cleanliness.

Clean Bubbler allows Wash to produce and control soapy water. He can generate strong streams of liquid as well as large bubbles capable of enveloping and carrying people.

The bubbles are useful for evacuation because they can lift injured or vulnerable people away from hazards without requiring Wash to carry each individual directly.

Clean Bubbler also has medical-support applications. Wash can use his bubbles to disinfect injured people, giving the Quirk practical value during the chaotic aftermath of battles and disasters.

Wash is introduced through the Hero Billboard Chart as one of Japan's highest-ranked active Pro Heroes.

During the Paranormal Liberation War, he joins the heroes assigned to Jaku General Hospital. While frontline fighters move deeper into the facility, Wash helps evacuate patients, staff, and civilians from the hospital.

When Shigaraki's Decay begins spreading through the surrounding area, Wash uses his bubbles to keep people airborne and away from the disintegrating ground.

He later participates in the heroes' Final War deployment and remains an active top-ranked Pro Hero after the conflict.

Endeavor leads the larger Jaku Hospital operation in which Wash participates.

Tomura Shigaraki becomes the central threat during the hospital raid when Decay spreads through the surrounding area.

Manga Fukidashi later trains under Wash during his work-study period, gaining experience suited to his own support-oriented Quirk.
