Tousuke Megishima

Megishima is quiet, serious and strongly principled. His dislike of Shokugeki is not caused by fear of competition; he simply rejects the idea of using cooking to strip other chefs of things they value.

Ramen brings out a more passionate side of him. Megishima cares deeply about independent ramen chefs and travels around the country helping restaurants facing difficulties. His reputation among those cooks comes from practical assistance rather than his Elite Ten title alone.

He can initially appear indifferent to conflicts that do not involve him personally. Convincing him to act requires demonstrating genuine determination rather than appealing to rank or obligation.

Megishima is one of Tōtsuki's strongest ramen specialists. His experience comes from working with numerous regional ramen shops, exposing him to a broad range of broths, noodles, oils, toppings and local traditions.

Rather than adhering to one rigid ramen school, he incorporates ideas gathered through his travels. His dishes demonstrate sophisticated control over broth concentration and the relationship between noodles, seasoning and aromatic components.

Holding the Third Seat places him behind only Eishi and Rindou when introduced. His reluctance to participate in Shokugeki makes that ranking particularly notable: his reputation rests on cooking ability rather than enthusiasm for competitive duels.

Megishima is initially one of the Elite Ten's highest-ranking members. He is among the council members who refuse to support Azami Nakiri's appointment as director and consequently loses his seat after Central takes control.

Sōma later seeks him out while assembling competitors for the Régiment de Cuisine. Megishima initially refuses to participate, forcing Sōma to repeatedly challenge him until the younger chef's determination changes his mind.

Megishima joins the Rebel team and defeats Shoko Kaburagi in his first Régiment bout. He later faces Rindou Kobayashi in an extremely close contest, pushing the Second Seat to reveal far more of her ability before ultimately losing.

Sōma Yukihira recruits Megishima to the Rebel team. Sōma's repeated challenges and refusal to give up eventually earn Megishima's respect.

Rindou Kobayashi is Megishima's fellow third-year Elite Ten member and later one of his strongest opponents.

Eishi Tsukasa ranks above Megishima on the original Elite Ten and later represents the opposing Central faction.

Satoshi Isshiki and Terunori Kuga share Megishima's opposition to the political takeover that removes them from the Elite Ten.

Shoko Kaburagi faces Megishima during the Régiment de Cuisine and becomes his first opponent in the team competition.

Azami Nakiri becomes Megishima's political opponent when Megishima refuses to endorse his appointment as director.
