Taku Furuya

Taku is carefree, playful and inclined to joke around with classmates. Even during tense periods at school, his first instinct is often to treat the situation with the casual attitude of an ordinary teenager.

His teasing can cross personal boundaries. On one occasion he grabs Shinichi's clothing without permission, inadvertently exposing something Shinichi would rather keep concealed.

Taku nevertheless has no malicious agenda toward Shinichi and remains part of his ordinary school circle.

Taku is an ordinary human without supernatural abilities.

He cannot detect Parasites and has no special combat training or enhanced physical characteristics.

Like most of Shinichi's classmates, he experiences the consequences of Parasite activity without understanding the biological conflict behind them.

Taku appears regularly among Shinichi Izumi's classmates during the anime's school scenes.

He is present during periods when the school becomes directly threatened by Parasite violence, including incidents involving A and Hideo Shimada.

Taku later pulls at Shinichi's shirt and exposes the scar over his chest, a physical reminder of the injury that transformed Shinichi's body after Migi repaired his heart.

Shinichi Izumi is Taku's classmate and one of the students with whom he regularly jokes.

Satomi Murano belongs to the same broader school circle.

Hideo Shimada infiltrates the school as a student, placing Taku and the other ordinary students unknowingly close to a Parasite.
