Shuuto Sendou

Sendou is proud, emotional and highly conscious of his standing as a professional footballer. He initially responds badly when his ability is questioned because he believes his position as a starting forward in Japan's top domestic league places him above high-school players who have not yet reached that level.

His ego is accompanied by considerable emotional sensitivity. Official profile material describes his mentality as fragile, and criticism affects him more strongly than his confident public behavior suggests.

Sendou nevertheless possesses genuine competitive determination. When circumstances demand that he contribute outside conventional striker duties, he works across the pitch instead of refusing tasks that will not personally result in a goal.

Sendou is an all-round forward capable of contributing to several phases of play. His movement around the penalty area makes him dangerous when loose balls or deflections create sudden scoring opportunities, giving him qualities associated with a poacher.

He also possesses substantial work rate. Sendou can press opponents, drop into midfield, participate in combinations and rapidly transition between attack and defense. During the U-20 match, he demonstrates enough stamina to make defensive interventions before joining subsequent attacking sequences.

His goal-line awareness is particularly useful. Sendou reacts quickly when an opponent appears likely to score, allowing him to contribute emergency defensive actions despite his normal position as a forward.

Sendou is introduced as Japan U-20's ace striker before the match against the Blue Lock Eleven. His position is immediately challenged by Sae Itoshi, who bluntly dismisses the quality of Japan's existing forwards.

The arrival of Shidou further changes Sendou's role. Rather than remaining the undisputed focal point, he must adapt his movement around a more explosive striker and contribute to the attack without always being its intended finisher.

Sendou later enters the Neo Egoist League with Ubers. Under Snuffy's tactical system, he develops into a hardworking secondary attacker around Barou and scores by reacting to a loose ball inside the penalty area.

Oliver Aiku captains the Japan U-20 side in which Sendou begins as the ace forward. Oliver Aiku trusts his teammates while also recognizing the shortcomings that Blue Lock exposes.

Sae Itoshi openly challenges Sendou's pride by criticizing Japan's forwards and refusing to treat his domestic professional status as proof of world-class ability.

Ryuusei Shidou forces Sendou into a more supportive attacking role when Ryuusei Shidou becomes the principal scoring threat for Japan U-20.

Shouei Barou later becomes the central striker around whom Sendou operates at Ubers, with Sendou contributing through pressing, support play and opportunistic finishing.
