Shura

Shura is energetic, competitive and intensely proud of his rapidly developing strength. Despite his biological youth, he behaves like a confident young warrior because his accelerated development and training have prepared him almost entirely for combat.

He admires Yomi but also wants to test himself against his father rather than simply obey him. Their interactions reveal an increasingly ordinary familial attachment beneath the political circumstances of Shura's creation.

Shura can be impatient and boastful, but his confidence is backed by extraordinary natural ability.

Shura is already a Middle S-Class demon despite being only months old. His engineered development gives him enormous demonic energy, speed, strength and durability at an age when an ordinary child would be helpless.

He receives direct martial training from Yomi and can manipulate demonic energy offensively. His potential is treated as exceptional even among the powerful demons assembled around the Three Kings.

His youth also means that his existing power represents only an early stage of his possible development.

Shura is introduced after Kurama returns to Yomi's territory. His existence demonstrates how seriously Yomi has prepared for the coming struggle among the Three Kings: he has created a powerful heir who can strengthen his faction in the future.

Yomi nevertheless develops genuine affection for Shura and trains him personally. This relationship becomes increasingly important as Yomi's priorities begin changing.

Shura enters the Demon World Tournament and is matched against Yomi. Father and son fight seriously, with Yomi ultimately defeating him while treating the match as part of Shura's growth rather than simply eliminating a rival.

Yomi is Shura's father, creator and martial-arts teacher. Their initially strategic connection develops into genuine paternal affection.

Kurama encounters Shura after returning to Yomi's territory and observes the relationship developing between father and son.

Yusuke Urameshi's proposal for the Demon World Tournament creates the competition in which Shura is able to test himself.
