Shiori Miyazaki

Shiori is presented primarily through her friendship with Sumire. She participates in the social environment surrounding the new students rather than displaying the intense fascination with karuta that Chihaya hopes to inspire.

Her limited appearances do not provide enough independent material for a more detailed personality profile.

Shiori is not established as a ranked competitive karuta player. She encounters the game through Mizusawa's recruitment activities but does not develop a documented competitive class or specialist style.

Shiori appears at the beginning of Mizusawa's second major recruitment period. The club's success has attracted roughly twenty interested students, dramatically more than the handful of members Chihaya originally struggled to assemble.

The newcomers soon learn that competitive karuta requires substantial memorization, practice and physical commitment. Most lose interest, leaving only a few students prepared to continue.

Shiori remains a minor school character rather than becoming part of Mizusawa's tournament lineup.

Sumire Hanano is Shiori's friend and the principal character connecting her to the Karuta Club's recruitment storyline.

Hinako Mano is another Mizusawa student associated with the group of prospective recruits appearing during the same period.

Chihaya Ayase attempts to teach the newcomers and hopes to turn their initial curiosity into genuine enthusiasm for competitive karuta.
