Ryousuke Nishida

Nishida is cheerful, sociable and mischievous. He functions as a mood-maker within Eimei's badminton club and is comfortable joking with both his classmates and younger players.

His sillier behavior does not prevent teammates from trusting him. Nishida has enough experience and reliability to assume leadership responsibilities, and he understands the competitive environment well enough to advise younger athletes.

He is particularly comical around food and romance, becoming territorial over his meals and dramatically jealous when people around him enter relationships.

Nishida is a strong badminton player who earns a place on Eimei's competitive roster. Although Haryuu receives more attention as the team's ace, Nishida possesses the consistency and experience expected of one of Eimei's senior players.

He competes in both ordinary club training and tournament badminton and later forms a doubles partnership with Haryuu.

The partnership proves successful at the prefectural qualifiers, where Nishida and Haryuu win the doubles competition and qualify for nationals.

Nishida appears early as one of Eimei's established badminton players. His presence helps define the club as a team rather than a series of isolated singles competitors, and he regularly observes Taiki's development alongside Haryuu.

As the older generation approaches its final high-school tournaments, Nishida serves as captain while Haryuu serves as vice-captain. Their doubles run allows both third-years to reach nationals during their last season.

After graduation, Nishida continues appearing around his former teammates, retaining an interest in Taiki and Eimei's later badminton campaigns.

Kengo Haryuu is Nishida's close friend, teammate and eventual doubles partner. They win the prefectural doubles competition together and advance to nationals.

Taiki Inomata is Nishida's junior and friend. Nishida watches his development from an inexperienced first-year into one of Eimei's leading players.

Kyo Kasahara is another junior on Eimei's badminton team and part of the group Nishida helps lead.
